2-29-12 Photo of the Day

Saturday morning grocery shopping .... I have seen this before where the whole family goes out to do the shopping together on bikes... the dad must be one hell of a cyclist, between the kids and the food that is going to be a lot of weight he has to pedal through. This was shot with the Ricoh GRD IV I did some cropping but not much.  I love the English spirit !!

  1. Ha. I see that the dutch freight bike has crossed the channel. But the freight is mostly children especially in Holland. My neighbour get sometimes 6 kids inside and then 1 behind her. (Yes her own kids with friends). Its funny to see a school going out. Real traffic problems there with all that bikes.

  2. I enlarged the photo and see that whole contraption is on two wheels! Yikes. Great shot. I can't wait to see what you get in Paris.

  3. I have a great idea... why don't you get one of those and pedal your wife and kid around London! Would be great exercise with that big hill. =) Nice photo, as usual Ger - very interesting bike. You're right, he must be a really strong cyclist to balance that bike around London traffic!

  4. Another wonderful capturing-a-moment shot. Perhaps we Americans are cautionary to a fault - or maybe it's just me - but no helmets?

  5. Thanks everyone and I echo the same feeling George, I would at the very least have helmets on the little ones ...
S.C the lady that rode with six kids she must be an outstanding athlete I can hardly push my big butt up some of the hills around here and its just me and the bike lol.
I cant wait to go to Paris either... Im most likely going to go for two days now so I can capture the night life and get some long exposers of places. Thanks everyone for the comments

  6. Great shot - It almost looks like its from another era. The helmets would be a good idea, but yes we are way over protective here - We are all intact from our childhoods.
