9-7-11 Photo of the Day

Yesterday was a dismal shooting day... I could not make a good photo if my life depended on it.  On the way home I sat sort of across from this other photographer that was making pictures left and right, not sure if they were any good or not, but he was busy snapping away.  I was using my D300 with a 24mm 2.8 prime lens.  I believe the settings were ISO 400 at 80th of a second. I waited for the train to stop moving so I could get a clear shot. I admired that fact that he didn't have a care in the world if people noticed him photographing them, of which people did notice, and no one said anything. His camera Nikon D3s with a 24-70 2.8 lens.

  1. Who's going to say anything to a guy with such a big rig? :-)

Nice shot, looks like about f4? (Just kidding, I peeked at your exif info...)

I like the reactions of the people around him too - including you.

  2. Also, I think England is one of those places where people just don't want to say anything. Most people pretend not to notice things, rather than creating a situation. Afraid of their own voices. Unless alcohol is involved, in which case people seem to become quite vocal. LOL

Seeing as you're a son of New York, do you agree? Do you think English are too timid at times? I'm always interested to know what people think of us.

  3. Hey Bill,

I think you are right, English people tend to be a little timid. Now being a New Yorker I tend to speak up pretty easily ... and I am sure The English people must look at me and think look at this jerk. Im getting better =)
