8-19-11 Photo of the Day

This photo was taken a few weeks ago in front of the US Embassy. I haven't taken many photos this week so I have to dig into my photo stash...

  1. I'm seeing a trend here, Gerry - deep thoughts! Are you trying to tell us something :-)

This one is completely different though. I like the triad of the subjects, together yet utterly apart and alone in their own worlds. Great composition.

  3. Hey Guys,

This is one of the things that I love about London, are the amount of parks in such a small area. NYC (Manhattan) has Central Park and some really small parks but London has tons of huge parks and yes during lunch it seems like everyone escapes and relaxes at the parks. I have three big parks with in a twenty min walk..

  4. Very nice and calm image. In a dense city, like London, it is difficult for people to find any solitude. This reminds me of a walk through any park in the city, full of lunch time office escapees; all trying to get away from it all, all in their own little spaces,

  6. The London parks are probably the best city in the world. They were designed by royal architects, with absolutely no budget, and many years to complete. Can you ever imagine any city designing Regents Park today?

A city without any parks is like a prison.

  7. It is amazing how there is a park at every turn in London. Nice having so much nature amongst the craziness of the city. This image captures well the calm element the parks offer. Nice composition. I especially like the curve of the wall.
