I like this shot just because it makes me laugh =) While that one young lady is looking at me, it seems like the other lady and her monkey are interested in the first ladies sandwich. Shot at Boroughs market... as you can tell its one of my favorite places to go take photos. I wish I was a little further back to properly frame the lady with the sandwich.... I was using an 85 prime lens and didn't think fast enough to back up a little.
Yeah, it is funny. For some reason the monkey looks totally alive. I know it's a toy... but just look at it's face!
ReplyDelete85mm prime! Thats an interesting lens. I would like to try that myself, and give myself a little distance from people. Is it a small lens body?
I don't like waving a big zoom around in public any more. My Ricoh GRD3 uses a 28mm prime lens (equivalent), so I can get real close to people. On my Nikon I have a 50mm prime, which I don't use enough.
Hey Bill, I saw the Monkey before I saw the two ladies and that is what I started to photograph then I saw the scene unfold in front of me and took the shot that I did.
ReplyDeleteI love the 85mm its not a long lens, if you are familiar with the old Nikon 55mm macro lens its about the same size. I recently purchased a Nikon 24-85 F2.8-4 lens which is the lens I have been using for the past five images I think. I use the 85 prime when the light is low and I need that extra stop of light.
I heard the Ricoh GD3 is an awesome street photography camera... My Nikon is bulky but I get the shots so no need to switch plus the others are expensive

ReplyDeleteThanks Mike,I love Borough Market because of its lighting... Its under a highway type of ramps and a bridge so the light can be harsh at times which I love or soft like it was this day because of clouds.

ReplyDeleteThanks CC, you need to get sick on a Thursday or Friday its the best days to go... the crowds aren't that bad... on Sat its too crowded to shoot... well maybe not but its really bad. =)
