This is a shop keeper of a 24 hour store in Banbury UK. This is one of those images for me that makes me really want to know what was going on inside his head.
Thousands upon thousands of these shops up and down the country... all run by hard working 'long hours' owners and staff. I think they are thinking of getting home to their family. Or maybe hoping for a day of polite customers and a good turnover.
Nice shot Gerry, really captures the humanity of your subject, can't help but feel empathetic toward him, and to think, as Bill notes, of the long hours, worries, and probably modest pay this kind of work entails.
