3-29-12 Photo of the Day

I shot this a few weeks ago, this is at a tube stop, and I saw her as my train pulled up.  I made sure my camera was on and ready to fire as soon as the doors opened.  I knew I had a small window to take the shot before she objected to her photo being taken.  I was lucky I got the shot then she raised her arms telling me not to take her photo.  I smiled, thanked her and walked away.

3-28-12 Photo of the Day

Shot this on Sunday at the London Wetlands, it was shot around three in the afternoon, not a good time of day for photography but in London when its sunny out ... you have to take advantage and soak in all the wonderful sun.  I used my Nikon D300 with my 70-200 2.8 lens  

3-27-12 Photo of the Day

Shot on the bus on my way home on Wed of last week.  I shot it with one hand and not really looking at the back of the camera to compose the image.  I shot it with the GRD IV .... I like to shoot at the back of the bus, most of the seats are really close to each other and with the GRD its small and doesnt make any noise so easy to take images of people in a natural state.

This was shot in NYC, about five years ago at a place called Spanky's its a BBQ place... a must go if you are ever in NYC.  This was before my street photography days, I would photograph anything and everything....I was a photojournalist at the time so when not working, I tended not to photograph people, what a big mistake =(  Oh well have a great weekend everyone..

Here is a shot I took a few weeks ago while on a photo walk with CC a fellow blogger. It was taken at Queens Market in London ...  I exposed for the faces and I like how the light falls off around the image.  I shot this with my D300 and the 24-85 2.8-4 lens.  

3-21-12 Photo of the Day

People doing food shopping and taking mass transit home is a common site in London.  Parking is almost none existent and where there is parking it's normally expensive.  People hop on a bus or tube (train) and go do a few days worth of food shopping at a time.  I took this on my way home from work with the Ricoh GRD IV.

Happy belated St. Patrick's Day...  These where shot at Trafalgar Square on Sunday which is when London had their St. Paddy's day celebration.  The group of girls were major posers, anyone coming close to them with a camera and they would start posing lol. Second image is Irish  Elvis ... there was another Irish Elvis, but I didn't get good images so none are posted of him... Then you come to my favorite image... John Lennon look a like wearing a John Lennon T-shirt... then last but not least is the Irish bunny.. I hope everyone had a good St. Patrick's Day and that you are fully recovered =)

3-19-12 Photo of the Day

This merry group was spotted near Buckingham Palace on saturday... not sure why they were dressed like that but who cares ... Buckingham Palace is right behind them a little hard to see but its there, trust me. I was shooting with my Nikon D300 and a 35mm 1.4 lens.  Im starting to use my primes a little more .. thanks to the Ricoh =)

3-16-12 Photo of the Day

Shot yesterday morning while walking the dog... it was really foggy and I wanted to capture that mood... I was shooting with the GRD IV and I was trying to pan and it didn't come out but I liked the shot anyway.  I cropped a little on the left to put the cab on the left margin and to take away some from the bottom of the image.  I hope everyone has a great weekend, be safe and see you all on Monday morning.

This is a great little pub that serves Thai food...  if you are like me you would think "What Thai food in a British pub?" Once you get over that, the food is great the atmosphere is wonderful and it's a typical British pub with cool decorations.

Shot on Sunday by Queens Market using my trusty Nikon D300 =) I love the Ricoh but I love using my Nikon even more....  Queens Market is open seven days a week with Friday and Saturday being the busiest... more market shots to come later.

Good morning everyone.. I hope you all had a good weekend. I along with fellow blogger CC went to a very cool market this weekend called Queen's Market I hope to be posting some images this week, we also did some night photography very fun.  If anyone is interested in going on some photo walks let me or Bill or CC know. We normally do a full day but you can stay as long as you want.  We have a few others that join us so the more the merrier. This photo was taken about six months ago at a tattoo convention love the expressions of the people around.. notice only two guys are ready to take the photo everyone else is just in shock at what is going on or wish they were in the guys place.

Shot in the tube going home after a good days work.  I was really close to this couple no cropping or adjusting of any kind other then Nik software to convert to B&W... thats the key secret to good black and whites Nik Sliver Effects pro 2 =)   Have a great weekend everyone ... go out and take photos !!!

I shot this about three or four years ago while on assignment in NYC. I was photographing boring airports  ... so at night I went out and walked around in the city I was born and raised in. I love NYC it wakens so much in me...  These are my old stomping grounds.

This shot was taken on my way home yesterday, I saw her and wanted to photograph her just standing at the light, but as you can tell the light changed and she started to walk, good thing for me she walked slow I managed to take a few shots and I was on my way.

Good Morning everyone, I hope we all had a good weekend. Todays photo was taken on Friday on my commute home, its another panning photo. This was a busy weekend so didn't get a chance to go out and shoot. Sunday started off raining then it got really cold and continued to rain so the Ricoh didn't get pulled out.  I need to get a little more ballsy and start putting the Ricoh in peoples faces, plus Im still trying to figure out how to best use the Ricoh.

This guy is a customer service rep for the high street, isn't that awesome!  So if you want to go somewhere or looking for an item they help you out.  I was really close to him when I took this...using the GRD IV, I did crop the bottom a little to shift him more to one side.
